This photo shows the internal make up of wood cellular prior to treatment with CedarShield. Note that the internal cavity of the cell is empty. This represents dry wood with only a 7% moisture content. Fresh cut or chemically treated wood will originally have a moisture content of 100%. As the wood dries the moisture content will deplete and the cell size will contract.

As you can see, the cellular cavity is now filled with a silicone substance which prohibits the entry of airborne or liquid moisture which subsequently eliminates the expansion and contraction of the wood. This phenomonon eliminates splitting, cupping and twisting as well as the rejection of fasteners.
