WOOD CELLS AFTER CEDARSHIELD TREATMENT

This photo shows silicone filling the cavity of the cellular structure of the wood. When the wood is severed for photography a certain amount of the internal jel component is destroyed which explains the obvious depletion of silicone from some of the cells. When in tact, the cellular structure is completely filled with the SI-Jel Matrix better known as silicone. Treatment with CedarShield renders the wood water proof from the inside out. When wood is green or wet the cells are 100% filled with moisture. As the wood dries the moisture level decreases and allows the cells to contract. This is what makes wood crack, twist, curl and cup. When the wood is exposed to air or liquid moisture the wood then expands. A constant expansion and contraction of the cellular structure starts to break down the stability of the wood. This shortens the life cycle of the wood structure. Bulking of the wood cells with CedarShield eliminates the breathing of wood and creates 100% stability. Subsequently, coating adhesion will be enhanced to lifetime agendas subject only to wear factors caused by exposure to weather related elements or traffic.
