The use of CedarShield DECK-DOCK-FENCE Wood Protection Products are the Panacea of wood treatment for Decks, Docks, Fence's, Log Homes and other outdoor structures. It is considered a ONETIME LIFETIME Treatment that also provides limited UV RESISTANCE to treated timber. CedarShield DECK-DOCK-FENCE is a PENETRANT, not a coating. Unlike the common Thompson Water Sealer or other promoted coatings currently utilized for treatment of outside and element exposed structures, the CedarShield product is classified as PENETRANT PRESERVATIVE. Application of this product provides a total penetration and wicking throughout the wood, transforming the media into a alternative wood mass that is scientifically referenced as the early stages of Wood Petrification. The CedarShield solution triggers the exodus of both free and bound water in the fiber and cellular make up of wood. The silane component of the formulation is known as a NANO substance and is a water scavenger which attacks the bound water of the woods cellular structure. The bound water harbored in the molecular make up is converted to ethanol gas and migrates to atmosphere in a short time. It subsequently fills the molecular cavity of the hydroxyl group molecule that composes the cellular structure and make up of all wood. The end result of the treatment provides a zero active moisture content in the wood rendering it dimensionally stable and 100% Insect, Decay, Mold and Water resistant. The wood is no longer subject to moisture either as air born humidity or in liquid form. The molecules of the cellular structure are now impregnated with a pliable water resistant silicon compound replacing the normal moisture content that previously entered and departed, which creates the swelling and contraction of wood. This event now no longer occurs and the wood enjoys total DIMENSIONAL STABILITY perpetually. Because there are no caustic elements in the formulation of CedarShield, FASTENER CORROSION issues are completely eliminated. In the treated woods stable environment, the life cycle of paints and stains are extended. Cedar Oil and Silicone compounds are sealed in the wood and provide the insect and antimicrobial protection required for extended life of the structure. CedarShield can be used to encapsulate and eliminate leaching of the Copper and Arsenate Fungicide treatments commonly used in below and above ground applications.
